　　The person I am very close to in my family is my mother. My mother is medium height who always wears a friendly smile on her face. Blue is her favorite color as she thinks it symbols peace and emotion. I think it has a lot to do with her personality. As a music teacher, she is always very patient and kind to her students. There are quite a few similarities between us. People all say that I look like my mother more than my father. We both like listening to the music and watching movies. On weekends, we often go shopping in the supermarkets or department stores. But we are also different in many ways. My mother is a good gardener. Our veranda is lined with all her gardening masterpieces, such as chrysanthemum and Chinese roses. I am not so patient in taking care of the plants. Besides, my mother can cook many delicious dishes, while I can’t at all. I have learned how to treat people and how to deal with problems on my own from her. She is the one I am close to as she really influences me a lot.

　　Time spent together with family members is always a reminder(提醒) of happiness. Never will I forget the beautiful days with my mom. From the time of my birth, mom plays a significant(重大的) role in my life. The dining table is always spread with delicious food. From changing my diapers(尿布) to paying my school and college fee, mom does every possible thing to provide me an easier and comfortable life. So the family member I have spent the most time with surely is my mom. Mom worries about my safety all the time. In her eyes, I will always be a little girl who never grows up, especially when we dine out. “Is the food clean? Would it give you pains in the stomach?” She also worries about the weather. “Is it too cold and wet? Put on more clothes to prevent the cold.” She cares so much about me, she couldn’t love me more. When do we spend time together? Well, I would say mostly it’s in the evening. Why do we spend so much time together? Because we have the similar interests and our personalities fit for each other, and also because mom has given me too much, it’s time to repay(报答) her now. There are lots of things we enjoy doing together, for example watching movies or accompanying(陪伴) her for a walk after dinner. Like everyone, my mom has a few movies, which she made me watch when I was a kid. Now it's time to bring back(使回忆起来) those memories and watch those movies again with her. But every time mom just smiles, and sometimes there are tears in her eyes. I know they are tears of happiness.

　　The family member I spent the most time with is definitely my father. When I was younger, my father and I used to play ping pong a lot. Usually, my mother would either be cooking, or cleaning up the rooms. My father went back home after work and we would spend a lot of time just playing while my mother did housework. Now, I am grown up and don't have as much time to spend with my family. But when I do, it is usually with my father. We don't play ping pong much any more, but we do spend a lot of time talking just before and after dinner. We sit at the table and talk about world politics, social issues, and anything else that might be in the news. Meanwhile, my mother continues to do the same things, such as preparing dinner, cleaning up houses, and listening to what my father and I talk. My father is an interesting man. He likes to read, and he is always very curious about what I am studying. We have long conversations in which I spend a lot of time both listening and expressing my point of view. I appreciate(欣赏，感激) that my father is a curious man, even about things that don't really have anything to do with his life. I spend so much time with him because, in that way, I want to be the man like him.

　　I have got 6 family members and all of them are very dear and close to me. If I need to pick one family member among them to talk about, that would be my father.

　　My father’s name is XXX and he is around 50 years old. He is the kind of person I would want my offspring to be. He did his graduation in a time when formal education was not people’s first choice. They would rather start earning from work rather than going to school. My father fought to ensure his education with the people who thought working or doing some sort of business has more value than education. But my father believed that education is the most important part of a man’s life. He heartily held the idea that education shapes a man’s life and is the kind of power and asset that would always accompany him.

　　I have lots of memories of my father and I see him every day. That’s why I’m close to him. There exists a strong bonding between us that only two of us feel. I still remember those days of my childhood when I used to wait in the evening for my father to return from office. He would then play with me and help on completing my lessons. I vividly remember him sometimes taking me to the market and buy me gifts. When I was an infant he moved to the city from the village to ensure me better schooling and environment. That was a decision that has changed my life path. He himself helped me finishing my home works and lessons, always allured me of gifts if I could complete my study. Besides my education he taught me lots of moral values and important things of life.

　　He used to work in a Government organization and for his hard-working and kindness; he is revered by all of our relatives, his friends and neighbors.

　　He believes in humanity, good behavior, our creator, and leads a life that can be exemplary. He still does most of his own works and helps my mom on her house hold works. After retirement he has picked 2 new habits: gardening and teaching neighbors’ kids. He is a quiet and intelligent man who has benevolent heart and that what make him so admirable to me. He is still the pillar of our family and all of our family members love and respect him very much.
