一种动物bison数量在减少。原因是European American Settlers:

1. 当欧洲人来到美洲大陆的大草原时，他们捕猎bison作为食物来源。

2. 欧洲人带来了cattle和horses，这些动物与bison竞争各种资源

3. 枪支的发展，使得猎人能快速捕杀bison。

Listening

这三种理由都不靠谱：

1. 欧洲人是从美洲东部向西部进发，而bison消失的轨迹和定居者的移动方向并不吻合。

2. bison有两层毛发，使它们能抵御寒冷的天气。而cattle和horse抗不了冻。所以cattle和horse与bison生存的区域不一样，因此它们不可能与bison竞争资源。

3. 不能归咎科技的发展。先前的捕猎方式bows and arrows就和枪一样有效。记忆精湛的捕猎者也能短时间内连续捕杀数头bison。
