Traditionally, education of young children is always given the top priority in the majority of nations, but prioritising the instruction for illiterate adults is highly recommended by some educationalists. Personally, I fully advocate such recommendation and deem that the corridors of power should allocate more budgets to this.

Admittedly, it is justifiable for some to refute such proposal for the reason that some adults, especially the elderly or those who are engaged in repeated low-skilled work, seem to earn their daily sustenance based on abundant experience without barriers, even though they are unable to read or write. Besides, in comparison with young children, who are at their best stage to assimilate new techniques and thus can be easily nurtured into elites in sundry domains, adults are more likely to be inhibited by self-consciousness, consequently incurring the low learning efficiency. However, the aforementioned argument holds no water, which indicates that behind education of adults are more gains.

Hence, wiping out illiteracy for adults should be prioritised. // Additionally, if illiterate adults seize such chance to acquire new working techniques, especially when robots are gradually replacing them to do those repeated work, they will secure a more decent job, and the whole society can thus enjoy a more vigorous workforce.
