2015年2月7日雅思写作考了这么一道题：
Many museums and historical sites are mainly visited by tourists, not local people. Why? What can be done to attract local people?
很多博物馆和历史遗迹的参观者多为游客，而非本地人，原因何在，博物馆如何吸引当地居民?

为什么博物馆和历史名胜都是外地游客，为什么本地人不愿意去?
1. 本地人角度来说：
a.觉得自己比较了解本地文化，博物馆馆藏和历史遗迹对自己没有新鲜感。相对与去博物馆，更多人宁可选择在休闲时间去电影院等娱乐场所。（假设你是上海本地人，或者在上海上大学，难道你会经常没事的时候跑到上海博物馆去看一看?你可能会说，这本来就是给外地人看的，谁本地人老去这些地方?面对这样的雅思考题，让你用英文写250个词其实并不是一件容易的事。）
b.大多数博物馆都收费而且有些收费不低，也是很多当地人不去的原因 (money 一直都是一个可以分析的角度)
2.从游客的角度来看，人们远道而来，参观当地的博物馆和历史遗迹能在最短的时间内了解当地的文化，符合游客消费的心理，因此，当地逛博物馆也是他们每到一处参观的必选项目。
第二个问题是：怎样做才能吸引本地人？
其实也没有什么好办法，对不对?但是你总得写啊!比如说博物馆可以多做一些不同主题的展览(hold exhibitions of different themes)，还可以在报纸或者电视上做一些宣传(publicize these events)。另外我还写了一个措施，很多去博物馆参观的人都是学生，比如学校组织活动，那我们可以让学生带家长去，这样就会有更多的成年人去博物馆，而且家人之间能够有更多的相处时间(spend some quality time)。quality time这个词是老外很常用的一个词，用来形容家人之间共处的时间。

It is common for tourists to visit museums and historical sites when they travel to a city, but an interesting phenomenon is noticed that few of the \isitors to these places are local people. There are some reasons that may explain this.
One main puipose of travelling is to broaden people’s horizons and visiting museums and historical sites is an easy way to get the information about the citv?s history and customs. This is why tourists coming from other cities show interest in visiting these places and many tourists %vould put this activity in their agenda. Bv contrast, local people seem to be less interested in museums and historical spots, perhaps because they think they already know too much about their city, or they are too busy to pay a visit. The fact is that they would rather go to the cinema or to the park, which is more relaxing than visiting a museum.
To attract more local people to museums and historical sites, the important thing is to make their activities more diversified and interesting. For example, the museums can hold exhibitions of dififerent themes regularly. These events can be publicized in local newspapers and T\r to make more people informwi. In addition, most of local visitors to museums and historical sites are students, but they can be encouraged to take their parents together. This enables family members to spend quality time on the weekend and also gives them some interesting topics to discuss.
In conclusion, museums and historical sites reflect the cultural idoitity of a city and it is understandable that they are attractive to tourists. We can also take some measures to increase their appeal to local people.
